Map
The Citadel route is easier when permanent progress comes before optional rewards. Use the aqueduct to reach the western lift without crossing the upper forge turrets.

Safest route
Enter through the lower aqueduct, disable the steam valve, and climb the western stairs. Activate the lift before opening any optional chest.
Ride up, collect the forge seal, and clear the sealed forge. Return to the junction and continue east only when supplies are ready for the Warden.
Checkpoints
The western lift is the most valuable checkpoint because it remains active after defeat. The arena entrance is a short rest point but does not replace the lift route.
Use the lift before spending a rare consumable. A failed boss attempt then costs only the upper-hall walk.
Items
Emberbrand rests inside the sealed forge, with enough cinder cores for its first upgrade. Frostburst Sigil comes from the Warden’s first-victory chest.
Two cleansing draughts are found beside the aqueduct valve and should be saved for Scorch during the boss route.
Bosses
The Warden of Ash guards the eastern arena. Use frost, break both ember pylons in phase two, and keep burst damage for the final burning ring.
The arena exit returns to the western lift, so collect the reward chest before leaving through the eastern door.
