Skill order
Unlock the first stagger passive, then frost duration and guarded recovery. Take the charged counter only after the basic control loop works without it.
This order improves ordinary expeditions as well as bosses. A late damage node is less useful when the build cannot maintain a safe attack window.
Combat loop
Open with a Glacial Lance thrust, guard the first response, and use the frost sweep during recovery. Spend the charged skill when stagger is nearly full.
After stagger, complete one heavy chain and step back before recovery ends. Repeating a controlled loop is safer than extending the combo.
Alternatives
Use Emberbrand before Glacial Lance is available. Limit the weapon to short chains and keep a stamina sigil equipped until close-range timing feels reliable.
Frostburst Sigil can be replaced when the enemy never burns. A general stamina or guard option then supports more attacks across the whole encounter.
Boss matchups
Against the Warden of Ash, frost control and Frostburst Sigil align with every phase. Break both pylons before spending the charged skill.
Against Tidemaw, add shock support and keep Glacial Lance for platform reach. Build the final stagger only after the tail sweep.
