Defeat Tidemaw with shock preparation, a clockwise flood route, controlled platform movement, and reliable final stagger timing.

Preparation
Bring a shock weapon or skill and one cleansing draught for Drench. Frost is resisted, so the Glacial Lance is a reward for later encounters rather than the best choice here.
Set the eastern spillway checkpoint before opening the arena. It gives the shortest return path and begins beside the first safe platform.
Flood cycle
During the first flood, watch which three platforms stay dry and learn the tail-sweep timing. Cross only after the sweep passes your current platform.
The second flood moves faster and adds a forward bite after each crossing. Keep one dodge available instead of spending all stamina on movement.
Platform route
Start east, move south, then continue clockwise to the western and northern platforms. This order keeps Tidemaw behind your route instead of crossing through it.
Stand near each platform center until the tail sweep finishes. The edge shortens the next jump but creates a greater risk of being pushed into the water.
Final stagger
When Tidemaw pauses beside the northern platform, use shock skills in quick succession. Save ordinary attacks for stamina recovery and spend the strongest stagger tool last.
Attack from the platform center during the stagger. Leave enough time to step back before Tidemaw recovers with a circular bite.
Rewards
The first victory chest contains Glacial Lance. Later clears provide tideglass used for its frost-duration upgrades.
Use the arena exit beside the chest; it returns to the spillway without crossing the flooded floor again.
